Alamo & Costello (Michael "Chester " Costello),
MFA 1998
Alamo & Costello received his BFA from the John Herron School of Art,
Indianapolis (1992) and earned his MFA from Columbia College Chicago (1998).
His many group shows include The Art Exchange, New York; Gallery 312,
Chicago; and Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago. He is currently the chairperson
of the Department of Fine Arts at the University of St. Francis, Joliet,
Illinois.

Susan Coolen
Susan Coolen's work has been included in solo and group exhibits in Quebec,
Canada, and the United States. Recent exhibitions include ´Shifting
Sites', Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography [National Gallery
of Canada's 'On Tour' program 2000 - 2003]. Works from her series Astral
Projections exhibited in the international event ´Encontros con
la image' in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain in 2000, and images from
Astral Projections have been published in Photo Vision: Big Crunch:No.
30, Spain, Summer, 2001. In November 2002, works from Coolen's Le
Spectacle de la Nature: A Collector's Compendium exhibited at the
Toronto Harbourfront Centre's The Photo Passage. Also in 2002 and in 2003,
the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du QuÈbec awarded Coolen art
production grants to develop two new projects, Celestial Travelers
and Pliez,. Current projects include new works for Terre
OcÈane; Galerie Dazibao's Publications book series,
2003, and inclusion in upcoming groups exhibits and projects in MontrÈal,
Kitchener/Waterloo, Vancouver, Pittsburg and Barcelona.
Coolen has given artist talks at the University of Lethbridge's ART NOW
visiting artists program, the Photography Department at Concordia University
, Toronto's Harbourfront Centre [in association with Humber College, Toronto]
and Presentation House Gallery in Vancouver. She is also a member of the
photo/artist collective Fovea in Montreal. Coolen has organized and coordinated
a group exhibit of members works and their public art projects for the
Moser Art Gallery, St. Francis University, Joliet [Chicago], January 2002,
and is coordinator for the collectiveís current envelope project
Tout PrÈs/So Close.
Susan Coolen graduated with a Bachelor of Design in Communication Design
from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1977and moved to Montreal
in 1991 to pursue a BFA in photography at Concordia University, followed
by an MFA in Photography at Columbia College, Chicago.
Christine DiThomas (MFA, 2001)
Christine DiThomas will have work exhibited this season at Crown Gallery,
Loyola University. In 2003, she was selected for the Chicago Solutions
show, curated by Ed Paschke, and the Texas National 2003, juried by Jerry
Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor. Her photographs have appeared recently in
Concentrics and mouthtomouth magazine. She recently copyedited My Body/Your
Body, the first of Columbia's 6x6 series of photography books, and Melissa
Pinney's book Regarding Emma: Photographs of American Girls and Women.
Natasha Egan, MFA 1998
Natasha Egan is currently the Associate Director of The Museum of Contemporary
Photography, Columbia College Chicago www.mocp.org and has worked in the
curatorial department since 1995. Natasha has traveled extensively in
Europe, Asia, and the United States, meeting with hundreds of emerging
artists while organizing numerous exhibitions and publications. Before
joining the museum she spent time in Eastern Europe researching a prospective
exhibition for the photography curator at the Seattle Art Museum. In 1997
she curated the Museum of Contemporary Photography's exhibition "Alienation
and Assimilation: Contemporary Images and Installations from the Republic
of Korea," which involved an extended stay in South Korea. Since
1998 Natasha has organized numerous exhibitions focused on international
and national artists such as Shimon Attie, Anne and Bernard Blume, Oliver
Boberg, Sophie Calle, Mat Collishaw, Anna Fox, Naoya Hatekayama, Seydou
KeÔta, Katarzyna Kozyra, Nikki S. Lee, Zwelethu Mthethwa, and Toshio
Shibata. She is one of the head curators for the museum's Midwest Photographers
Project: a rotating collection of loaned photographs by photographers
in the Midwest for research and exhibition. Natasha has taught in the
photography department at Columbia College Chicago since 1997 and juries
local exhibitions. She holds an MA in museum studies and MFA in fine art
photography from Columbia College, a certificate in photography from the
University of Washington in Seattle, and a BA in Asian Studies from the
University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington.
Sarah Faust, MFA 2000
Faust received a BFA from the University of Kansas (1992) and earned her
MFA from Columbia College Chicago (2000). She has exhibited widely, including
the Stamford Art Association, Connecticut; Limner Gallery, New York; and
Trish Higgins Fine Art, Wichita, Kansas. Her work is in numerous private
collections and she twice received Albert P. Weisman Memorial Scholarships
and Dwight Follett Fellowships during her time at Columbia College. Sarah
has a solo exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center in November 2003.
Bill Frederking, MFA
Frederking earned a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MFA from
Columbia College Chicago where he is currently a professor of Photography.
He also works as a professional photographer and has served as a visiting
artist at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and at the Milwaukee
Institute for the Arts, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His work has been exhibited
in Chicago at the Vedanta Gallery; the Northern, Illinois University Gallery;
The Museum of Contemporary Photography; Artemisia Gallery; the New Orks
Gallery, the University of Illinois at Chicago; and The Cultural Center
of Chicago. Frederking's numerous awards include the Ruth Page Award,
Chicago; an Artist's Fellowship Grant from the Illinois Arts Council;
a Faculty Development Grant from Columbia College Chicago; and a Purchase
award from the State of Illinois Museum in Springfield. His photographs
are held in the collections of The Art Institute of Chicago; The Museum
of Contemporary Photography, Columbia College Chicago; and the State of
Illinois Museum.
Megumi Fujimura, MFA 2001
Megumi Fujimura is currently working full time at Hostway Corporation
as a user interface designer and part time at Chicago Manufacturing Company
as a web designer.

Gina Grillo, MFA 1998
Grillo earned her MFA from Columbia College Chicago (1998), where she
is currently an adjunct professor. Her work has been published in The
Chicago Tribune, among other periodicals, and is represented in collections
that include The University of Chicago, Fannie Mae Foundation, and Albert
and Tipper Gore. Already shown at The Field Museum of Chicago (2001) and
Chicago O'Hare International Airport (1999 - 2000), Between Cultures:
Children of Immigrants in America travels next to The Ellis Island Immigration
History Museum, New York, and The International Institute's Dreams of
Freedom Museum, Boston.
Surendra Lawoti, BA 1999
Lawoti came to the United States in 1994 from Nepal to pursue higher education.
He graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in photography (1999).
Lawoti had a solo show at the Spiny Babbler museum in Katmandu and has
been included in many group shows around Chicago, including Flatfile,
The Marwen Foundation, and The Glass Curtain Gallery. He recently was
the Assistant Manager of Columbia College's photography studio, leaving
to attend graduate school in Boston.
Jocelyn Nevel
Jocelyn Nevel received her B.A in Photography from The Ohio State University
and her MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago. She was an Artist
In Residence in the Photography Department of Columbia College Chicago
for two years and also taught at The School of the Art Institute Chicago. In
1999 Nevel received a commission from Disney Enterprises to create a large
scale sculptural quilt chronicling the White Sox. She has received three
City Arts Assistance Grants from the city of Chicago. In 2000 Ms. Nevel
was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Art Department at Cornell University.
Jocelyn Nevel exhibits nationally in solo and group exhibitions. Three
years ago she began curating the online gallery of the Center for American
Places. Nevel is currently an Assistant Professor in the Art Department
at the University of New Mexico.

Colleen Dahlberg Plumb, MFA 1999
Colleen Plumb received her B.A. in Graphic Design from Northern Illinois
University (1992) and an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago.
She has most recently designed a book for Columbia's Photography Department
entitled My Body Your Body, the first in the '6x6 Series', as well as
the department Website. She was accepted as part of the MoCP's Midwest
Photographers Project last spring and has a photograph in the University
of Chicago Renaissance Society's "Movement" annual benefit silent
auction this fall. She has exhibited her photographs in many group shows
including: the Chicago Cultural Center, Terra Museum of American Art,
Water Tower City Gallery, Gallery 312, and ARC Gallery. She currently
teaches part-time at Columbia College Chicago.
Corinne Rose, MFA 1998

Tone Stockenström, MFA 2002
Stockenström earned her BA in Latin American - Iberian Studies and
Spanish from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (1993), and her MFA
in photography from Columbia College Chicago (2002). Recently awarded
an Illinois Arts Council Fellowship, Stockenstrˆm is also the recipient
of The Polaroid Foundation Artist Support Grant, Canon Emerging Professional
Award, and a three-time winner of The Albert P. Weisman Grant.
Stephen Szoradi, MFA 1997
Szoradi holds a BA in Photography/Architecture from Bennington College
(1990) and an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago (1997).
His solo exhibitions and installations include "Full Circle"
at The Water Tower Gallery, Chicago, and at Indiana University Northwest,
Gary; "Fluff: Shredder Residue" at The Museum of Contemporary
Photography, Chicago; "Working Chicago" at Treffpunkt Roteb¸hlplatz,
Stuttgart, Germany; and "Blue Collar Cathedral" at both The
Chicago Cultural Center and Ab Imo Gallery, Chicago. His work has also
been featured in From Steel to Flesh at Indiana University, Gary; "You
are Here, Chicago in the Year 2000" at The Chicago Cultural Center,
and the traveling show "The View From Here" which returns from
Central Europe in April 2003.
Corrie Witt, BA 1998
Witt earned her BA from Columbia College Chicago (1998) and her MFA in
Photography from the University of Illinois at Chicago (2000). She is
the recipient of a 2002 Illinois Arts Council Grant and has most recently
exhibited at Zolla/Lieberman Gallery, Chicago; the Society for Contemporary
Photography, Kansas City, Missouri; the Wright Gallery, Chicago; and Artworks!
Gallery, New Bedford, Massachusetts.
