The Cartoonist's Eye

The Cartoonist's Eye is a preview of the upcoming Anthology of Graphic Fiction, edited by the show’s curator, cartoonist Ivan Brunetti. Offering an eclectic sampling of the vital, highly personal “art comics” that are being produced today alongside a slew of classic comic strips and other historical matter, The Cartoonist’s Eye engages the viewer with an amalgam of genres that range from autobiography to fiction.
 
The ADC Annual Awards competition, or the "Big Cube", identifies and honors the best work of the year in print and broadcast advertising, interactive media, graphic design, publication design, packaging, photography and illustration. The New York Art Directors' Club is the premier organization for integrated media and the first international creative collective of its kind. Dedicated to providing visual fuel for students and young professionals in the field of visual communications, the ADC annually sends its International Annual Awards Exhibition on a worldwide tour.

New Prints 2005/Autumn

 In conjunction with International Print Center New York, New Prints 2005/ Autumn consists of forty-three prints by thirty-one artists selected from a pool of over twelve hundred works. With this exhibition, IPCNY continues its role as a central source of information about artists working in the medium of printmaking. New Prints 2005/ Autumn is the eighteenth presentation of IPCNY’s New Prints Program, a series of juried exhibitions highlighting exceptional contemporary prints. New Prints 2005/Autumn celebrates the 5th Anniversary Season of International Print Center New York and its New Prints Program.

         

This exhibition focuses on the artists' response to travel experiences. A variety of media is represented, from traditional sketchbook drawings and collage, to more conceptual forms including altered photographs and video. Featured artists include Tim Anderson, Daniel Barber, Barlow, Sandra Binion, Louise Le Bourgeois, Steve Carrelli, Gene Coleman, Antonia Contro, Tom Denlinger, Bonnie Hartenstein, Peter Hessmer, James Krauss, Karen Lebergott, Lou Mallozzi, Joanne Morgan, Judy Natal, Joclyn Oats, Elizabeth Ockwell, Marilyn Propp, Brian Ritchard, Kathie Shaw, Fern Valfer, Nina Weiss, Dan Wheeler, and Jay Wolke.
