soundSCAPES and interACTORS, a New Media exhibition at Columbia College Chicago is an exploration of new forms in video art by eight artists whose collective focus follows a futuristic non-linear narrative that combines sound and visuals and provides an immediate, often tactile, artistic experience for gallery visitors. This exhibition highlights outstanding Latino artists working in Chicago whose artwork is extremely varied in expression and style. This show is about meaning, symbols, spirituality, beauty, and the diversity of visual language. Designed to provoke a dialogue and elicit a new vocabulary the exhibition is also about the process the artists use to generate their ideas and final creations. Participating artists include Montserrat Alsina, Javier Chavira, Jorge Felix, Alfredo Martinez Galvan, Sergio Gomez, Alberto Gonzalez, Eladio Gonzalez, Raul Ortiz, Paul Sierra, Michele Tuohey and Santiago Vaca. | |
| Domystique features innovative products focused on the domestic environment. The show explores technology, craft and definitions of personal space. A process oriented exhibition, Domystique sheds light on issues involved in the design, prototyping, refinementor manufacture of exhibited products in the gallery setting.
