An AEMM graduate internship provides the student: 1) 360 hours of supervised work-study in the student's area of specialization, 2) daily contact and working relationships with supportive professionals, and 3) an opportunity to relate course work and career aspirations to the demands of the marketplace. The student may elect the internship after completing 27 credit hours, but it is recommended that Internship/Thesis be done after the completion of all course work. The choice and conditions of an internship are made by agreement between the sponsor, student, and the AEMM internship coordinator. Student interns are required to do a project of practical value to the sponsor and which is academically acceptable to AEMM. A thesis is required of all candidates for the Master of Arts degree. The criteria for an acceptable thesis are:(1) an original explanation of a problem, (2) examination of the literature in the field, and (3) provides data and information that will add to the knowledge of the field. Upon acceptance of the thesis by the student's thesis committee, the candidate is eligible to graduate, assuming that all other academic requirements have been met. The thesis must be submitted six weeks prior to the end of the semester in which the student expects to graduate. Graduation takes place at the end of the semester or summer, session, i.e. January, June or August. Additional requirements for thesis or thesis projects -- preparation of an abstract, format, number of pages and copies -- is available from faculty advisor.
