Course Description: Decision Makers in Media

Decision Makers in Media

This course is for graduate and undergraduate students in the AEMM department as well as undergraduates in Television department. Students will study the structure of various media (network television, cable, satellite, and independent production) and the many issues affecting the decision-making process. The human and economic factors governing decision-making in several phases of media operations will be explored. Lectures and demonstrations will focus on situations that influence management decisions, including ownership structure, programming, advertising sales, rating systems, and management styles. The emphasis will be on day-to-day operational decisions at top levels of management. [Core course, Media Management]
