Course Description: Photography: Design Tool for the Architecture & Design Community

This course is comprised of six segments in which the student builds his/her understanding about the design process by employing photography as a tool. Topic areas covered include: light, frame/composition; investigation/research; history of imagery; story/visual communication of concept; copy/presentation. The course also covers basic camera operation, color, digital printing, conceptual and technical photographic skills, material sensitivity to light, and techniques for photographing drawings and models. The student will study historical and contemporary photographs and discuss the practice of architectural photography with area professionals.
