This course is an exploration of conventional and non-conventional systems used in architecture and design disciplines, that promote a sustainable environment. The student will become cognizant of a range of material possibilities, the origins of materials, their processing methods, and the aesthetic implication. This course will also touch on the impact of decision making in regard to material choice. It will explore the ethical values as well as aesthetic implications of decision making pertaining to materials and methods. Throughout the course the student will also develop an awareness of how these materials link to LEED certification.
