FACULTY ORGANIZATION (CCFO)
Report to the College Council
April 4th, 2008
Since the last College Council meeting, CCFO has been represented in a meeting on April 1st where the Faculty Liaison to the Board of Trustees Committee had a meeting with the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees. Topics discussed at this meeting included: rank and promotion; the growth of the college; evaluation of the Deans and the recruitment of international students.
CCFO and the CTE are co-sponsoring a sabbatical application workshop that will be held on April 16th and will be facilitated by Sabbatical Committee Chair Gerald Adams. CCFO also hopes to meet with the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs before the end of this academic year,
Our elections for President, Treasurer and various committee positions have been completed and “certified” by our election committee [composed of Elizabeth Davis-Berg, Tom Hamilton, Patty McNair and Jean Petrolle]. We had a 49% increase in the number of faculty who voted this year as opposed to last. We would like to thank all who ran and congratulate those who were elected. A list of the winners is attached and will be posted electronically.
