In the Fall ’02 semester, Columbia College students were invited
to "Tell it to the Box," an initiative of the Student Affairs Office
designed to elicit feedback from students about the college. We at
Echo decided to research and compile our own list of Columbia student
pet peeves.
Costs continue to rise and it’s hard to get financial assistance.
"It’s whack that it keeps going up. Hopefully, it won’t get higher by the time I
graduate."

There are important issues but people are only concerned with their own lives.
"No one cares about anything outside of their bubble."

We are a communications school and should have a more modern technique of registering. They keep
promising online registration, but it’s constantly being delayed.
"We’re supposed to be getting it now. It’s about time."

All the buildings are smoke-free, but every building entrance is choked with smokers.
"You can’t walk in or out without being bombarded with smoke."

"Unless you know someone who knows about the event, you might not find out about it. And the promotional ads need more visuals; they can be so boring. People just pass them up."

Congestion in the elevators can make you late to class. Things would go more quickly if passengers would get off first, step away from the elevator and make room for the those who want to get in.
"I hate being stuck in a crowded hallway, waiting for an elevator to get to class."

With so many buildings spread out around the South Loop, it can take a while to get a problem solved.
"When you go into one of the offices on campus, no one can answer your questions. No one has the power to do anything. It’s so frustrating."
