Mordine & Company Dance Theater
March 13, 14 & 15 * 8pm
The Dance Center will present Shirley Mordine’s newest work as part of Mordine & Company Dance Theater’s 40th anniversary season. More than two years in the making, Quest is a full evening work in three parts, inspired by Jose Saramago’s novel The Stone Raft, a story of six individuals and their spiritual journey upon finding themselves on unfamiliar terrain. Mordine’s choreography expresses the disoriented movement of people after a cataclysmic event and the exploration of an unknown world. Quest features scenic/projection design by internationally acclaimed artist John Boesche. Musical accompaniment will be played live by Chicago-based composer/cellist Alison Chesley, formerly of Poi Dog Pondering, and Davis Krieg on percussion.
