This course will look at how online journalism in the Third World has revolutionized news gathering in these countries, opened doors once sealed tight by oppressive regimes and given a voice to journalists and regular citizens. Students will create blogs as well as establish communication with journalists and bloggers from around the globe. Students also will report and write about Chicago's global communities.
