Provides photography students with an opportunity for in-depth study of the photographic book, beginning with an historical overview of the photographic book and its production, and the uses some photographers have made of the book as an artistic medium and repository for photographic images. The structure of the photographic book is addressed, with particular attention to issues of sequencing, pacing and movement, and various forms and uses of narrative. Students produce a professional-quality photographic book, with emphasis on digital production.
